Aortic aneurysm is enlargement of the aorta to more than 1.5 times normal size. This disease usually shows no symptoms excluding when ruptured. Sometimes, there can be back, abdominal or leg pain.
It is most located in the abdominal aorta, but can also be situated in the thoracic aorta. Aortic aneurysms cause weakness in wall of aorta & increase aortic rupture risk. When it ruptures, massive internal bleeding results &, unless treated instantly, shock & death can even occur. Vascular care center is the right niche for treating abdominal aortic aneurysm, based on various factors, subsuming the aneurysm’s size, patients age & general health.
In general, if patient have large aneurysm they will be advised to have surgery, either to reinforce the inflamed section of aorta or to change it with a piece of artificial tubing, because, the risk of aneurysm rupturing is more than the risk of its repair.
